Endometriosis Journey

This is the full arc of my endometriosis journey, gathered in one place. It moves from the earliest confusion of unexplained symptoms, through years of searching for a diagnosis, into surgery, recovery, and the advocacy that grew out of all of it. If you are somewhere in your own journey, my hope is that you can find the part that meets you where you are.

No two journeys with endometriosis look the same. This is simply mine, shared in the hope that it helps someone else feel a little less alone and a little more informed.

Important Note

This page and the stories it links to are educational and reflect my personal experience with endometriosis. They are not medical advice. Endometriosis is complex, and every person's symptoms, diagnosis, and care are different. Please speak with a qualified healthcare provider about your individual situation.

Understanding the Disease

What Endometriosis Is, and How It Can Feel

For a long time, I did not have language for what was happening in my body. Understanding endometriosis, what it is and how it can feel, was the first step toward being able to advocate for myself.

The Search for Answers

Getting Diagnosed

Getting a diagnosis took years and more appointments than I can count. These pieces look at why endometriosis is so often missed, and what it felt like to finally be heard.

Treatment and Surgery

Excision Surgery

Surgery was the moment the disease was finally seen and removed. This is what excision surgery involved for me, along with the center and surgeon who guided my care.

Recovery and Healing

Healing After Surgery

Healing did not end in the operating room. Recovery brought its own chapter, including pelvic floor physical therapy, nutrition, rest, and the slow work of rebuilding trust with my body.

Why I Share

Advocacy and Being Heard

Everything I share comes back to one belief: patients deserve to be heard. My experience as both a clinician and a patient shapes why I care so deeply about women's health, and why I keep telling this story. Awareness is only the beginning. Real change comes when women are believed, taken seriously, and supported with care that looks closely.
