About Gabriella

Gabriella Castellani is a Clinical Specialist at Medtronic and a licensed Occupational Therapist based in the Greater Pittsburgh Region.

With over a decade of experience spanning direct patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and medical device clinical support, she has built a career defined by one principle: patients come first.

A Clinician at the Core

Gabriella's career began where it matters most — at the bedside. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Gannon University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, she launched into clinical practice at UPMC Passavant and UPMC Children's Hospital. There, she served as the lead occupational therapist for the Technology Assisted Children's Home Program, traveling across the state of Pennsylvania to provide medical device education, DME recommendations, and evaluations to children requiring life-saving devices.

From there, her career took her through pediatric school-based therapy, skilled nursing rehabilitation, and home health — each role deepening her clinical expertise and reinforcing her belief that great healthcare starts with listening. At AHN Healthcare at Home, she consistently exceeded productivity benchmarks, met her quarterly bonus every quarter for over three years, and became known for the quality of her patient education and care coordination.

From Patient Care to the Operating Room

In 2023, Gabriella brought her clinical foundation into the medical device industry, joining Medtronic as a Clinical Specialist in Pain Therapies and Interventional. Today, she partners with anesthesiologists, neurosurgeons, and pain management physicians to support complex procedures involving neuromodulation systems, targeted drug delivery pumps, and balloon kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures.

What Sets Her Apart

Gabriella brings a perspective shaped by both hands-on patient care and medical device clinical support. Her background spans acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, pediatrics, home health, and the operating room, allowing her to understand healthcare not only through systems and procedures, but through the patient experience itself.

What sets her apart is the lens she brings into the OR. She does not simply understand the devices, she understands the patients. That foundation allows her to communicate with care teams in a way that builds trust, supports better workflows, and keeps patient outcomes at the center of every decision.

Outside of her professional work, Gabriella is deeply passionate about women’s health, endometriosis awareness, and patient advocacy, especially in areas where women’s symptoms are too often minimized or dismissed. That passion is both personal and professional, and it shapes the way she approaches education, advocacy, and the conversations she chooses to bring into the open.
